People often learn Sindhi through an alphabet chart, but digital typing introduces another layer: each character also has a Unicode identity. This page is therefore organized as a digital reference rather than as a claim about a particular traditional alphabet count.
Important Sindhi characters in Unicode
The Unicode Arabic chart marks a number of extended Arabic letters as used for Sindhi. Examples include ٺ ٻ ٽ ٿ ڀ ڃ ڄ ڇ ڊ ڌ ڍ ڏ ڙ ڦ ڱ ڳ ڻ. Some of these are present on the current keyboard; others are included here as reference characters rather than separate keys.

Why an alphabet count should not be used as a keyboard specification
Alphabet descriptions and digital keyboard layouts answer different questions. A traditional alphabet description is about a writing system; a keyboard layout is an input interface. Unicode is a character encoding standard. A useful digital reference should keep those concepts separate rather than claiming that one keyboard button equals one alphabet entry.
Compare similar characters
Use the Sindhi Unicode Character Comparison when two letters look similar. The Sindhi vs Urdu guide provides additional context about why related Arabic-script languages can use different characters.
For a deeper technical explanation, continue with Sindhi Unicode Character Reference and How Sindhi Unicode Works.
Traditional alphabet, Unicode repertoire, and keyboard are three different things
These terms are often mixed together online. A traditional alphabet description groups letters in a language's writing system. Unicode assigns code points to characters for digital interchange. A keyboard layout decides which characters a user can enter quickly. None of those three structures has to have the same number of entries.
Why the Unicode chart is useful
The Unicode chart provides a neutral technical inventory with code points and standardized names. It also contains annotations indicating which characters are used for Sindhi. That makes it a stronger source for a digital character reference than copying a generic alphabet graphic from an unrelated site.
How learners can use this page
Use the reference when building vocabulary lists, checking copied text, preparing educational material, or debugging a spelling that looks correct but fails to match search results. For actual typing, return to the browser keyboard.
